Off the Rails DT - Mixed Media Canvas Tutorial

Hi there!

Today I wanted to share with my mixed media canvas and how I create it as part of my DT work over at Off the Rails Scrapbooking this month :)

Firstly I raided my craft room to find lots of products I wanted to use on the canvas!

Here I have used a stencil and applied texture paste over it onto the canvas.  I used a heat gun in between each step of making my canvas so as not to be waiting around for each layer to dry.

Next was the fun bit arranging all my products onto the canvas until I was happy with it.  I then stuck them all down, with my good old faithful 450 glue :)

I then added a thick layer of gesso over the entire canvas.  I used a sponge so I got lots of texture.

Now came another fun part for me, adding colour!  The first colour.

Then a second colour.

Once I dried them off I wanted a little more added to it, so I just resprayed it again until I was happy with it.

I finished off by adding lots of Viva Precious Gold Paint to the canvas.  I just love the finish it gives!
